Admission

We are proud to be an inclusive and co-educational Nursery and Prep school as part of the Gardener Schools’ Group (GSG). Admission to Kew Green Nursery and Kew Green Preparatory School may be into any year group providing a child is capable of managing the demands of the school day, can access and benefit from the educational programme and provision that we offer, and where a space is available.

Priority places are offered to Pre-Reception children at Kew Green Nursery in the first instance. Thereafter, places are offered to siblings and, following sibling offers, places are then offered based on the child’s age at date of registration.

In the final event, an offer of a place is at the Head’s discretion.

How much is the Registration Fee?

A fee of £100 is payable, which is non-returnable, when your child is registered.

How much is the deposit and when is this returned to me?

A deposit of £3,000 is payable on acceptance. This is repaid at the end of the summer holidays after the pupil has left, less any outstanding amounts that may be due. If you do not take you up your place following your acceptance and payment of the deposit, the deposit is not refundable.

How much are the Fees?

Fees are payable termly in advance, or monthly by direct debit. There are 3 terms per year (Spring, Summer & Autumn). For current fees, please click here.

Please be advised that late payment of fees will incur charges.

How much notice do I have to give if I wish to withdraw my child?

A term’s notice is required (by the final teaching day of your child’s penultimate term at the school), in writing to the Headteacher or the Head of Nursery.  Failure to give the correct notice will incur a term’s fee in lieu of notice and the deposit will be deducted from the outstanding amount.

Can my child bring their own lunch?

The nursery does not provide facilities for packed lunches and communal lunch is a key element of the nursery day. We provide a nutritional and healthy well balanced diet throughout the week cooked by our own in house chef and includes options for specific dietary requirements including a vegetarian option.

Please note, we are a nut free nursery.

Does the school provide insurance policies?

Like all independent schools, Gardener Schools Group Ltd has comprehensive operational insurance. Parents are asked to ensure that valuables such as musical instruments are included in their household policy.  Parents wishing to take out additional personal accident insurance or school fees insurance are advised to make their own arrangements.

Are there any discounts for siblings?

For the purposes of the sibling discount policy the definition of a sibling is: The pupil must be one of three or more children (biologically or legally adopted) having one or both parents in common.

The discount is not available to family members outside the sibling relationship such as stepbrothers/sisters.

The following subsidies will apply from September 2024 for families with three or more children who attends any school in the Gardener Group of schools – Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School, Kew Green Preparatory School, Kew House School and Maida Vale School and Kew Green Nursery.

  • 5% discount for every child

Please note that these are only effective as long as the siblings remain in school or if a sibling attends any school in the Gardener Group.

The discount would cease if/when one of the other two siblings leave the school or from any school in the Gardener Group.

Pupils in receipt of the sibling discount are not eligible for any other discounts.

Is my child eligible for Early Years Grants?

Children aged 3 and 4 are eligible for the government’s Early Years Education Funding (EYEF). This is collected from the government by the school on behalf of parents and deducted from invoiced fees.  We will provide parents with the ‘Free Entitlement Parental Agreement’ form for signature. This is then kept on file for our records and audit purposes.

Does the school accept childcare vouchers?

We are able to accept childcare vouchers for:

a)     Ordinary tuition fees until 31st March, 31st August or 31st December before the child celebrates his or her 5th birthday. After these dates you cannot pay for education with the vouchers.

b)     Any after school care or club provided outside normal school hours on the school site.
