Facilities

Kew Green Nursery is a beautifully spacious environment situated opposite Kew Green, and moments away from Kew Green Prep School. We pride ourselves in providing top of the range facilities, both indoor and outdoor at our nursery and the other schools in our group.

At Kew Green Nursery we offer the perfect combination of indoor and outdoor learning. By providing a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities, we are able to meet the needs of each child, allowing them to develop at their own pace.

At Kew Green Nursery, along with a passionate and experienced staffing team, we see the nursery environment as a powerful tool in the learning process. Our purposeful play activities allow children to transfer and practice recently taught skills. Our nursery environment reflects the children’s learning needs, both for their well-being and academic progress.

Both indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to provoke a sense of wonder and excitement in our children and include bespoke areas for roleplay, sand and water play, art and construction, a reading wall and places for quiet time. We have many specialists who enrich the learning throughout the week. Some of our specialist teaching is from our teachers from the prep school.

The large conservatory can be opened to integrate the indoor and outdoor learning spaces. The forest-school inspired design and immersive landscape of our outdoor area includes a mini-forest, a climbing frame, a large mud kitchen and a child friendly vegetable garden.

To support the transition to Reception for our Squirrels group we have a designated mini classroom. Children access this classroom for focused activities such as:

• Daily Anima Phonic Session – ‘Early Worms’ – children learn the sounds through interactive games and rhymes which also assists their letter formation and ability to blend sounds to read and write. If the children are ready to read, we have an array of early readers.
• Daily hands on Mathematic sessions, involving number sense and spatial awareness through shape and problem solving activities.

We’re lucky to have an array of rich resources on our doorstep such as a large outdoor area, Kew Green, and Kew Botanical Gardens, all acting as an extension of our classroom.
